We’ll be starting in Burren Junction NSW and slowly over five Days make our way up to Thargomindah QLD for the four day ‘Music In The Mulga’ country music festival.
It’s the ultimate bush experience where you’ll get to replenish yourself in artesian bore baths, experience opal mining, be serenaded around the campfire, enjoy a show at an iconic bush pub, make lots of new friends and kick up your heels at an outback country music festival.

ITINERARY
SAT 10th
All meet at Burren Junction NSW bore baths for a relaxing dip in the artesian spring. Happy hour and meet and greet followed by lamb and pork gravy rolls and an intimate campfire concert with Matt.
(Note, Burren Junction bore baths has a $5 per night camping charge and is an unpowered campsite. It does have toilets and showers).
SUN 11th
Hit the road about 10am and head north west for 161 km to the beautiful opal mining town of Lightning Ridge. Check into The Opal Caravan Park for a two night stay. The afternoon is yours to take a dip in the artesian bore baths or just kick back with a lazy book.
Happy hour at 5.30pm, followed by trivia with Matt and songs around the campfire with award winning bush Balladeer Smokie Pete Dawson.
MON 12th
The day is yours to explore all Lightning Ridge has to offer, we would definitely recommend booking into one of the many opal mine tours or taking another relaxing dip in the artesian bore baths.

TUES 13th
Check out by 10am and hit the road for a 230 km tag along to St George QLD. For those who are interested we’ll be stopping in for lunch at the famous Nindigully Pub which is on route to our destination, about 40 minutes out of St George.
Check in to the Kamarooka caravan park for a one night stay. The afternoon is yours to look around and take in this quaint country town – better still go and immerse yourself in local community artesian bore baths.
Happy hour 5.30pm at the campfire with a few songs by Matt & Smokie.
WEDS 14th
Check out by 10am, today is our longest trip of 293 km to Cunnamulla QLD. We’re estimating about a 5 hour trip, towing a caravan and stopping for lunch somewhere (to be determined closer to the time).
Arrive in Cunnamulla and check into the Cunnamulla Tourist Park for a one night stay. Tonight we’ll be heading down to the iconic Hotel Cunnamulla for dinner and drinks. Matt will set up all his equipment and put on a full concert for all the Taggers and locals of Cunnamulla.
THURS 15th to SUN 18th
Check out at 10am and hit the road for a 196 km drive to Music In The Mulga country music festival in Thargomindah QLD. Upon arrival we’ll be shown to our campsites and then the next 4 days is all yours to soak up some of Australia’s best country and Australiana music.
(Note, Music In The Mulga Festival is unpowered campsites. It does have toilets and showers though).

*All accomodation sites have power and water except for Burren Junction & Music In The Mulga festival. There are showers and toilets at all accommodations.
