My good friends the “Viper Creek Band” recently scored a NO 1 with the song (Just Press Play). It’s a tune I wrote with my Songwriting buddy in Nashville “Casey Wood” it’s also my 15th number 1. Gotta say I’m real proud of this one- I’ve always believed in this song and it’s obvious the listening public do to. GIDDY UP
Just a quick update to let you all know I’ll be up in Tamworth for the CMF- check out my gig guide, for shows. Also some great news- a song I wrote with Tania Kernaghan and her sister Fiona “That’s A Tradie” is Tania’s first video off her soon to be released album- I ended up with 3 co-writes on her new album.
Also the Viper Creek Band’s latest video is also one I wrote with my good mate from Nashville Casey Wood- it’s called “Press Play”. Gotta say I’m pretty chuffed at the moment.
I will also be releasing a new 13 track alum this year which I recently recorded in Nashville- more news on that to come
Just got the amazing news that a song I wrote (A Little More Country) about 12 months back with Australian Country Music artist “Troy Kemp” has gone to the NO 1 position on the Aussie Country radio charts. Pretty proud of this one- that makes it 13 NO 1’s for me now as a Songwriter- GIDDY UP and keep em coming.
Newcastle band the “Viper Creek Band” have just released there new single “Rockstars”. I wrote this song a couple years back in Nashville with my good buddy Mark Sutton- we both feel very honoured to have this song on the new VCB album- as we feel there gonna be a huge presence on the Australian Country Music scene. Check out the video if you get a chance. Cheers
A song I wrote with Natalie Howard “Me To” just recently hit the no 1 spot on the Australian Country Music charts- gotta say I’m pretty chuffed. Cheers
I’m over the moon to announce that I have just scored two songs on the new Travis Collins album- “The Bottom Of It” and “It Was Wheels” we’re both written in Nashville late last year- Travis is one of my fav Aussie Country artists so it’s a real honour to get two songs on his new album. I have also been notified that I have one song on the new Wolfe Bros album to be released soon- “Even Beautiful Gets Lonely To”. I wrote the song with Nick Wolfe over at his managers house about a year back. The Wolfies are really concentrating on the US market so I’m chuffed to have one on there album GIDDY UP.
Matt recently recieved the great news that a Song he wrote “Shoot The Moon” with Ian Moss Cold Chisels Guitarist will feature on Cold Chisels latest album. For those of you outside Australia that don’t know Cold Chisel “Wiki them” they’re an absolute legend of a band and Matt feels absolutely honoured to say the least.
Just a little heads up on whats been happening in Matt’s life of recent. He’s been asked to be in a reality TV show based in Nashville called “Another Country”. It features a bunch of Singer/ Songwriters from different parts of the world. The show is just a “pilot” at this stage and is still in it’s early stages of development. We’ll keep you up to speed as things progress.
Matt Scullion has been busy busy Songwriting in his second home of Nashville Tennesssee with some of Australia’s top Country Music artists- including Travis Collins, Troy Kemp and Damien Baguley.
Matt’s been flat out as usual Writing, Writing, Writing. He’s still living in Nashsville and recently caught up with Ian Moss from Cold Chisel and Wrote a few Songs. He’s also been Writing with Damien Baguley of the Viper Creek band and Travis Collins- both of them were over in Nashville working on Songs for there up and coming albums.
