The Legend Of The Lamp (Harry’s song) wins Traditional Song Of The Year at the TSA’s (Tamworth Songwriters Association) awards. Matt was over the moon as he stepped up onto the stage to accept his TSA award at the Tamworth CMF. He said it was great that the song resonated with the judges as The Legend Of The Lamp is a wonderful piece of Australian history that needs to be kept alive.

Matt & his good mate Col Finley have released a brand new music video called “From The Ashes”. It’s the 5th single off Matt’s “Aussie As Vol II” album and tells the story of the Black Summer bushfires of 2019/20.

Matt’s up for two gongs in April 2022 @ The Tamworth Golden Guitar Awards. Heritage Song Of The Year for his song “1868” and Traditional Album Of The Year for his latest album “Aussie As Vol II”. Wish him luck.

My brand new single “Christmas In Australia” drops to radio today. It’s a song about a typical Aussie Chrissy day and is sure to tug on the green and gold heart strings. It’s the third single off my latest album “Aussie As Vol II”.

Matt’s brand new album Aussie As Vol II hits NO 3 on the Australian Country Music ARIA Albums Charts.
It’s great to see it’s connecting so well the public at large. Thank you to all who have purchased a copy or streamed the new album.

Matt’s latest single 1868 has just spent an incredible 3 weeks at the NO 1 spot on the Australian Country Music Airplay Charts. That makes 1868 Matt’s 21st NO 1 as an artist and songwriter- but hey who’s counting.

Matt’s released his 3rd single BIG off his highly successful album AUSSIE AS. The song has already been added to dozens of radio station playlists and looks likely to follow in the the footsteps of his last two no1 singles. The video was put together by Matt and his wife Sharon.

SLANGUAGE hits NO1 for 2 weeks running on the Australian Country Radio Charts. Gotta say I’m over the moon about this news. Writing songs is not about awards or chart success, it’s about connecting with your audience and the success of the last two singles “Aussie As” and “Slanguage” tells me that my message is getting through. Thank you to all the DJ’s out there in Radio land for giving my songs a spin and a big thank you to everybody who has rung in and requested them. Cheers

Matt’s brand new 10 track album “Aussie As” is flying off the shelves. This morning it was sitting at no 3 on the iTunes country music albums chart. Matt says the response has been over whelming and he can’t wait to get out on the road to play the new songs to everyone.

So today’s the big day, I’d like to introduce you all to my brand new single SLANGUAGE. It’s the second song off my soon to be released album “Aussie As”.

The idea for SLANGUAGE came whilst on a trip overseas, I found I had to cut back on my Aussie Lingo as nobody could understand a bloody thing I was saying. But the song is also a celebration of Australian Slang and like my last single “Aussie As” it’s a big thumbs up to the Green and Gold.

The song was recorded by Aria award winning producer Shane Nicholson and the video was shot by Luke McDonagh of White Tiger Workshop. We shot the music video on site at Jesmond high school in Newcastle NSW.

I’d like to say a huge thank you to Jason Sar who did all the drawings and also featured in the video. Also a big shout out to Megan West the drama teacher at Jesmond high and all her wonderful students Nathaphong Yadee, Sule Kecelioglu, Amy Zhang and Tayla Wamsley who all played a major part in the video. I couldn’t have done it without any of you- you certainly brought my ideas for this music video to life.

My latest single “Aussie As” has been riding high on the airwaves for the last couple months and I’ve gotta say I’m over the moon. It reached the top spot on the Australian Country Radio charts and has been a regular feature on The Ray Hadley Morning Show. Definitely feeling the love- thank you to all. Cheers

I’m super proud of this group of Aussie Country Music legends I’ve put together to record a song I wrote to raise funds for Rural Aid/Buy A Bale. The song’s called “Shout The Land A Drink” and features myself, James Blundell, Tania Kernaghan, Drew McAlister and Simply Bushed. It’s receiving a ton of airplay which is fantastic. Check out the video.

Wow this feels good! “Australian Heartbeat” has just spent 4 weeks at the top of the charts. I wrote the song with Drew McAlister and Allan Caswell up at Drew’s house in the mountains mid last year. Drew certainly sung the hell out of it and it’s paid off – keep ’em coming mate. GIDDY UP

Hey Everyone I’m almost lost for words with this Golden Guitar award for “Song Of The Year”. Our Backyard is a song I wrote with Travis Collins and Amber Lawrence also performed by the pair. To win this category means the world to me as Songwriting is my passion and I’ve always dreamed of taking home this award. Thanks so much to the CMAA and to all the DJs out there, also to everyone that requested the song. Cheers
